What is micro switch?

A micro switch, also known as miniature snap action switch, is a type of momentary contact switch used widely in automotive, industrial and medical instruments as sensor.

How do 3 way switches work?

Pin 1 is the common terminal, pin 2 is the normally closed contact, and pin 3 is the normally open contact. When the switch is not being activated, pins 1 and 2 are connected together. When the switch is being activated, pins 1 and 3 are connected together.

"3-way" is the electrician's designation for a single pole double throw (SPDT) switch. The switches must create a complete circuit for current to flow and the bulb to light. When both switches are up, the circuit is complete (top right). When both switches are down, the circuit is complete (bottom right).
