A micro switch is a snap-action precision changeover switch with a very small contact gap. The snap-action defines a changeover switch whereby contact making and breaking speed is independent of the operating speed of the actuator. It is also referred to as a miniature snap-action switch.
A miniature snap-action switch, frequently known as a micro switch, is an electric switch that is actuated by very little physical force, through the use of a tipping-point mechanism, sometimes called an "over-center" mechanism
Common applications of micro switches include the door interlock on a microwave oven, leveling and safety switches in elevators, vending machines, arcade buttons, and to detect paper jams or other faults in photocopiers.

Micro switches are used at the power supply to turn the machine off/on, they are used for detecting switching power, angle of drums and filter. They will detect the door open-close status and are used on the control panel buttons
