Common problems in the use of 6*6 smd tact switches


The 6*6 smd tact switch is a hot-selling switch in the industry, and it is also the core tact switch of Gangyuan Electronics. It is also widely used in various products. If used improperly, there will be some defects, which are explained in detail below:



  • The resistance value is too high: Generally, the resistance value of our tact switches are below 30m ohms, so the contact performance and life of the tact switches are very good, but some tact switches have higher resistance values after the temperature and life test in the furnace. What effect will high resistance have on the smd tact switch 6×6 ? High resistance means that the contact area between the shrapnel of the tact switch and the PIN pin is too small, and the small contact area will cause poor contact of the tact switch. Therefore, everyone should be cautious about the resistance of the tact switch. The shrapnel and PIN pin have higher requirements for electroplating, and the resistance value during electroplating is low. After life test, there is abrasion on the surface of the shrapnel. If the electroplating is thin and the resistance is high, it is not conducive to the light tact switch.
  • Can't press after the furnace: a good tact switch, can't be pressed after being tempered by the reflow soldering machine. Many customers have also responded to this problem, so what caused it ? The socket switch is closely connected to the PCB, and there is solder paste on the PIN pad. If the mesh is slightly larger, the solder paste will easily flow into the inside of the tact switch. If there are foreign objects inside the tact switch, it will inevitably affect its stroke. The most common one is that it does not move. Another situation is that the sealing of the tact switch is not good, and the flux flows into the inside of the tact switch, causing problems.
  • The cover falls off: During the production process, customers will respond that the cover of the tact switch will leak. How can a good tact switch cover fall? If you are familiar with it, you will find that the cover is fixed by the four riveting points on the base, so as long as the four riveting points are loose or the riveting points shrink or shrink at high temperature Deformation will cause the cover to fall off. To prevent rust, you only need to pay attention to the following two issues. One is that the base should be made of temperature-resistant materials, and the other is that the rivets should be properly fixed.
  • Hand feeling: The hand feeling and button force of the tact switch are controlled by fragments. Commonly used shrapnel in my country are divided into phosphor bronze bullets and stainless steel bullets. At present, many manufacturers choose phosphor bronze bullets in order to save costs. Phosphor bronze bullets are cost-effective, which is why they are widely used. However, when the furnace temperature is too high, the phosphorous bronze bullet will deform and shrink more seriously, resulting in poor hand feeling.There is no such problem with stainless steel shrapnel, but the cost of stainless steel shrapnel is higher.
  • Tap does not conduct: When using the product, many consumers often find that it does not respond when the button is pressed. It takes a lot of force to press, and the product will have a functional response. Since our tact switches are used when exposed to the air, many finished products are not hermetically sealed, and electronic consumer products also need to dissipate heat. In wet weather, the light-touch switch bounce is easy to oxidize, and the contact performance after oxidation is not as good as before, that is, there is a problem of light-press non-conduction.Many consumers also opened the touch switch and found a small black spot on the shrapnel. This small black spot is the effect of the oxidation of the shrapnel. Therefore, it is recommended that the electronic products that we do not usually use are placed in a relatively dry place to prevent oxidation of electronic components.
